You and your passengers come before the car.
Onto the right-hand shoulder, as far from moving traffic as you can. On a highway, don't stop on a bend.
Flashers on, and the warning triangle set a good distance back. At night this matters more than anything.
On a highway, the family gets out and waits behind the crash barrier or well off the tarmac, not beside the car. Take water in summer.
A map pin on WhatsApp, with the road name and direction (towards Makkah or towards Madinah). The driver gets there faster.
🚨 Anyone hurt, or the car stuck somewhere dangerous? Call the unified emergency number 911 first, the tow truck after.
A first idea to help you explain to the driver; the workshop finds the real cause.
Madinah's summer and long roads strain the cooling system. Pull over and switch off; the radiator cap stays shut until it has cooled.
Heat raises tyre pressure, and an old or under-inflated tyre gives way sooner. If the spare is sound, you may not need a tow at all.
Heat wears batteries down. Some tow firms advertise a jump start where you are before towing.
Don't keep driving. A failing automatic goes on a flatbed, not on its own wheels.
Plenty of visitors come to Madinah in a hire car. Call the rental company first; many contracts include roadside help.
Months in a car park or yard, now off to a workshop or a buyer. That's a move, not an emergency, so you can negotiate.
Each costs differently, and a poor match can harm the car.
Most ordinary and family cars.
Lowers to the ground and loads the car without a steep angle.
Pressure, age, and the spare itself. The road to Makkah or Qassim is long, with stretches far from any shop.
Before a summer trip, have a workshop check the radiator and fans.
Save two before you need them, and ask the price for the road you'll be taking.
Leaving early in the morning or after sunset in summer is kinder to the engine and tyres.
Get the number written down, above all for intercity runs.
From where you are to the workshop or home. Ask for one number, not 'we'll see'.
Madinah firms advertise around SAR 50 extra from 10 pm to 6 am.
Tell them your car and how low it sits, and let them decide.
On a highway you may be an hour or more from Madinah. Ask for a realistic time.
Fix the address: a workshop in the industrial area, the dealer, or home. Changing it halfway raises the price.
Cash or transfer? Know beforehand so nothing holds up the handover.
If it happens, stop and agree again before loading.
Then the price is whatever he likes while you're stuck by the road.
Hold on to the first quote in the chat and show it.
Gearboxes get ruined that way. All four wheels belong on the bed.
Walk round the car with your phone first, every panel, then let him load.

🛣️ Between cities, the further the run, the wider the gap between quotes. Ask two or three, and give them the exact start and end points.
The figures come from a Madinah tow company's pages (a price guide updated January 2024 and a 2026 intercity page) and a Saudi car transport platform (May and June 2026), all opened in November 2026. The row marked * is from a Saudi-wide guide, because only one firm gave in-town Madinah prices. No priced tow from a real customer turned up. The fare is between you and whoever drives the truck; Laqeeni gets no percentage.

The rental company first. Check the contract; many include roadside help or set rules on who may tow the car.
It doesn't. Ring the truck owner, settle the fare between you, and pay him directly.
