Want a clean home in Madinah? Choose the cleaning type before you book

Madinah's dust is fine and gets in through the smallest gap: window tracks, door sills and AC vents. Many families do a big clean before Ramadan and…

Pin down what you need before calling

Firms price on rooms, bathrooms and the kind of work. The clearer you are, the closer the price.

Count rooms and bathrooms

Plus the kitchen, living room and majlis. Say whether the home is lived in or empty, as empty is quicker.

Windows and facades

Glass inside only, or outside too? High facades need equipment and are priced separately.

Who supplies the products?

Some firms bring cleaning products and machines, others expect yours. Ask first to avoid surprises.

By the hour or by the job?

A light weekly clean suits hourly booking; a deep or post-finishing clean is better priced as a whole job.

🧪 Never mix bleach with cleaners containing ammonia or acid. The mix gives off a harmful gas, especially in a bathroom with no window.

What makes Madinah homes hard to clean

So you know exactly what to ask for.

Fine dust in every corner

After windy days it settles in aluminium window tracks, under sofas and on top of wardrobes. Name the tracks and high places in your request.

Blackened AC vents

Dust sticks to vents and extractor grilles. Wiping them outside is the cleaner's job; inside the unit is the AC technician's.

A guest flat between bookings

Little time and a full turnaround: sheets, bathrooms, kitchen and disinfecting. Agree a fixed list that's repeated every time.

Cement and paint after finishing

Splashes on tiles and glass need special products and tools. An ordinary clean won't lift them and can scratch the tiles.

Kitchen grease and the hood

It builds up with daily cooking, especially before Ramadan. Ask for the hood and inside the oven if you want them done.

Scale in the bathrooms

White marks on taps and glass. They need the right cleaner for the surface, not strong acid on marble.

Kinds of cleaning in Madinah

Choose the one that fits; prices vary a lot between them.

Hourly maid

A weekly or fortnightly clean for a home you're living in.

  • Madinah firms sell 4-hour visits and monthly bundles.
  • Ask whether transport is included.
  • On a bundle you can usually ask for the same maid each time.

One-off deep clean

Before Ramadan, before an occasion, or before moving into a flat.

  • Covers tiles, bathrooms, kitchen and windows inside.
  • Ask for one figure for the flat, not an hourly rate.
  • Let the firm see photos before it gives a figure.

After finishing or renovation

A new house, or a flat where work has just ended.

  • Needs cement, paint and adhesive removed.
  • Floor area matters, so give it from the start.
  • Don't start until the last worker has left the site.

Before the cleaning team arrives

Put small valuables away

Gold, papers and small precious items in a locked drawer or with you.

Set priorities

If time is short, say what matters most: kitchen and bathrooms first?

Make sure there's water and power

Check the supply is on and the breakers work, especially in a new house.

Photos before and after

It makes it easy to check everything was done, and helps if you book again.

What to ask the cleaning company

Their WhatsApp replies protect you.

  1. How many cleaners, for how many hours?

Two cleaners for 4 hours isn't one cleaner for 4 hours.

  2. Do you bring products and equipment?

With marble or wood, ask which cleaner they'll use.

  3. Are outside windows included?

And how will they reach high glass safely?

  4. If something's missed, will you come back?

Some firms return within a day or two.

  5. Is there a monthly bundle?

For weekly visits, a bundle usually costs less per visit.

  6. Are the workers properly sponsored?

Ask whether the maids are on the company's sponsorship.

Things that should make you wary

A single one isn't proof of a bad firm, but keep it in mind.

A price without knowing the size

The figure will change when they arrive.

Uses acid on marble

It dulls the shine and damages the surface. Ask about the product first.

Wants full payment upfront

Pay after you've seen the work, or in two parts.

No company name or fixed number

Hard to get back to them if something breaks or goes missing.

Common questions

What's the price of cleaning a flat in Madinah?

It depends on size and type. A deep-clean request for a flat with 4 rooms and 2 bathrooms in Al Aziziyah drew offers of SAR 400 – 900, while HomeRun's Madinah flat average is SAR 200 – 2,700. For an hourly maid, a 4-hour visit is about SAR 170.

With Madinah's dust, how often do windows need doing?

Inside roughly every two weeks in summer, and the aluminium tracks after any strong wind. For outside facades, about every six months is plenty.

What should a furnished-flat clean between guests cover?

A fixed list: fresh sheets and towels, bathrooms and kitchen, floors mopped, bins emptied, and a look at the mattresses. Agree a set time between one guest leaving and the next arriving.
