Three minutes tells you whether it's a simple basin job or a crew with a machine.
If only the basin is slow and everything else drains, the blockage is close to it. If the whole bathroom and the kitchen have stopped together, look further down: the big pipe or the chamber.
Carefully, wearing gloves. Water standing high inside means the blockage is beyond it, towards the street. Empty means it's before it, inside the house.
If the gurgling and backing-up happen during rain, roof water is probably getting into the sewer, or a gutter is blocked.
Look at the roof outlets: hailstones, leaves or dust piled up? Clear them by hand before the next storm.
⚠️ Never mix drain cleaners (especially bleach with acids): they give off dangerous gas. And never climb into an inspection chamber or septic pit.
The likeliest causes; the technician confirms once they've looked.
Hailstones with leaves and dust close the outlet, so water pools on the roof or seeps down the wall.
When roof or yard water feeds the sewer line, a heavy storm fills it and water comes back out of the lowest drain.
Fat sets faster in the pipes in cold weather and traps food scraps with it. The most common kitchen blockage.
It collects in the floor drain and the basin trap. Simple rodding usually does it.
Long runs used hard for one day then left a week. Sediment builds up and the first big gathering overflows it.
Especially in furnished flats used by summer guests. Put an obvious bin by the toilet.
Ask the technician what they'll use, because prices vary a lot between methods.
Basin, kitchen sink, bathroom floor drain.
Main line, built-up grease, or the same blockage every few weeks.
A full chamber, or a house on a septic pit.
Clear roof gutters and yard outlets, and make sure rainwater goes to the street, not the sewer.
Once the hail melts, go up and clear what's piled at the outlets.
Oil into a tin and then the bin, not down the sink. Run hot water through once a week.
Open the chamber every few months, especially before big gatherings and Eid.
Settle how they'll clear it, and for how much, before a tool comes out.
And what's the price difference?
Have them show you: close by, in the line, or at the chamber.
For a repeat blockage, seeing inside the pipe beats guessing.
If so, ask about separating or diverting it.
For how many days, and is that written down?
Especially if they open the chamber in the yard.
Mistakes that make the problem worse or put you at risk.
It eats old pipes and harms whoever works on them next.
Ask first whether rodding will do.
Have it pinned down by camera or from the chamber first.
Gurgling floor drains are the start of a bigger blockage.
Prices published by plumbing and drain firms working in Taif (2025 – 2026), mostly starting prices. The method and where the blockage sits change the figure.
| Service | Rough price |
|---|---|
| Unblocking a basin or kitchen sink | From SAR 100 |
| Unblocking a floor drain | From SAR 120 |
| Bathroom drains | SAR 150 – 300 |
| Kitchen line (grease) | SAR 200 – 400 |
| General blockage repair | SAR 90 – 300 |
| Compressor unblocking | SAR 300 – 600 |
| Inspection chamber cleaning | SAR 320 – 550 |
| Pumping out a small septic pit | SAR 400 – 700 |
💡 One Taif firm lists two prices per job, before and after a discount (e.g. compressor SAR 400 – 600, or 300 – 480 discounted). Ask for the final figure; another firm advertises unblocking at SAR 200.
🌧️ If the trouble is rainwater getting into the sewer, unblocking only fixes today. The lasting fix is a plumber separating the roof line, so ask for that price on its own.
Collected from four Taif plumbing and drain firms' pages, one with a 2025 table and the rest 2026, opened in November 2026. They're advertised prices, not real customer invoices. You and the technician agree the price; Laqeeni isn't involved.
A basin or kitchen sink starts around SAR 100, bathroom drains SAR 150 – 300, and compressor work SAR 300 – 600, going by firms that publish prices.
Usually roof or yard water is feeding the sewer line, or the chamber is full. Clear the gutters and get a plumber to look at the connections.
A basin or nearby floor drain, yes, with a plunger or small snake. Leave the main line and the chamber to a technician.
No. You find the technician and talk to them; they keep the full amount.
