How to find a female fitness trainer who comes to your home

A home session saves the trip and the traffic, and gives you comfort and privacy. Since the trainer is coming into your home, safety comes first: a…

Before the first session: safety steps

All simple, and they take a few minutes.

Talk first

Call or video-call her before you book. You learn her style and see if you feel at ease.

Ask for the licence

The licence number and expiry date. A licensed trainer doesn't hesitate. If the number isn't clear, don't go ahead.

Make sure it's her

If you agreed on one trainer, don't accept a last-minute substitute without knowing.

Tell someone

Tell someone at home or a relative the session time and the trainer's name. That's not suspicion, it's a normal precaution.

What to prepare for the session

You don't need a full gym. A few things are enough.

A small space

About two metres by two. Move slippery rugs and anything sharp.

Water and a towel

Cold water close by, and the air conditioning under control.

An exercise mat

A yoga mat covers most exercises. She'll tell you if you need other equipment.

Trainers

Even at home, proper shoes protect your ankles and knees.

A fixed time

A time when you're relaxed, without children needing you or guests arriving.

Privacy

Agree with the household where the session happens and whether the door stays open or closed.

Special cases: get permission first

These need a trainer with real experience and your doctor's approval.

Pregnancy

Gentler exercise, specific to each stage.

  • Ask your doctor before you start.
  • The trainer should ask which stage you're at and about any medical advice.
  • Stop at once with dizziness, pain or bleeding, and see your doctor.

After birth

A gradual return, especially after a caesarean.

  • Wait for your doctor's go-ahead before session one.
  • Start light and build up slowly.
  • Ask about her experience with women after birth.

After injury or surgery

Carrying on after physiotherapy.

  • Share your physiotherapy report with the trainer.
  • She doesn't replace your therapist.
  • Sharp pain means we stop.

Questions to ask the trainer

Ask on WhatsApp before you book, so it's in writing.

  1. What's your licence number and expiry date?

How to check is in our guide on checking a trainer's licence.

  2. Do you train women clients only?

On Laqeeni a trainer can choose to take women clients only, and you'll see the label.

  3. Do you hold first aid?

It matters, especially with pregnancy, blood pressure or diabetes.

  4. How long is a session, and what equipment do you bring?

Find out whether she brings her equipment or you must prepare it.

  5. What's your cancellation policy?

Agree it before the first sessions.

Warning signs

Trust your feeling. If you're not comfortable, you don't have to explain.

Dodges the licence

We don't list trainers without a valid licence, and you shouldn't continue with her.

Changes the time or the person last minute

Especially if it's a different trainer you never agreed to.

Asks to film the session or post your pictures

Nothing is posted or filmed without your written consent.

Offers you supplements or medicines

That isn't a trainer's job. Ask your doctor.

Offers EMS (electrical muscle stimulation) without asking about your health

It isn't suitable for everyone: not during pregnancy, with a pacemaker or with epilepsy. You need a health check and your doctor's advice before the first session.

Pushes a big package on day one

Start with one session.

A guide only

Your agreement with the trainer

Put these points in a message before the first session.

These are points to agree, not prices. Laqeeni doesn't set prices or take commission, and you contact the trainer directly on WhatsApp.

Common questions

Can I train with a trainer if I don't want my photo shown?

Of course. The trainer herself can show a logo or her initials instead of a photo.

Does every trainer come to the home?

No. Each trainer chooses where she trains: home, gym, outdoors or online. Laqeeni's filter shows who comes to the home.

Would online sessions suit me?

If you want full privacy or your home isn't suitable, online is a good option. See our guide on home, gym or online.

What if I feel uncomfortable?

Stop the session and tell the trainer. If something was wrong, message us on WhatsApp.
