Most kitchen problems start with a wrong measurement or a price per metre that doesn't say what's in it. Take your own measurements, photograph where the water, drain, gas and sockets are, and find out from the start: are the worktop, wall units and fitting included or not?
Ten minutes with a tape measure and your phone saves you units that don't fit and extra visits.
Each wall from corner to corner, the ceiling height, and where the door and window are. Note them on a simple sketch.
Photograph the water tap, the drain opening, the gas pipe and the sockets, with the tape measure in the shot so the distance from the corner shows.
Use a spirit level or a straight board. If a wall leans or the floor isn't flat, tell the fitter up front.
Measure the width of the fridge, cooker and dishwasher you'll use, so the right gap is left for each.
🚫 Don't let the kitchen fitter extend or move a gas pipe unless that's their trade. Gas needs a qualified gas technician, and electrics need an electrician.
Each one is priced and handled differently, so tell the fitter exactly which is yours.
It can be done, but an old kitchen rarely fits the new walls the same way. Measure before it comes apart, and expect extra pieces or cutting.
Units need assembling and hanging, and the worktop cut for the sink and hob. Check every box has arrived before fitting day.
If the new sink spot is away from the drain opening, a plumber needs to extend it before the worktop goes on.
Running gas to a new spot is a gas technician's job, not the kitchen fitter's. Sort it out before fitting day.
Units end up crooked and doors won't close properly. A good fitter adjusts with the legs and screws, or tells you to fix the wall first.
Your old worktop was cut for the first flat, so you'll often need a new one or an extra piece.
A sign of an old leak. Fix the leak, and think about aluminium or a moisture-resistant material for the sink unit.
The type changes the price per metre, how it's fitted and how long the kitchen lasts.
Common in Saudi because water and humidity don't affect them, and usually cheaper.
A smarter look and more colour choices, at a higher price per metre.
Fixed-size units you buy and have assembled at home.
Take your things out and keep the way to the kitchen clear. If there's an old kitchen, agree who takes it out and away.
The fitter puts in the units and worktop first; then the plumber connects the sink and tap, and the electrician the sockets and extractor.
Open and close every door and drawer, run the tap and check there's no drip under the sink.
Photograph the kitchen once it's fitted, and get the guarantee period and what it covers in a message.
Clear answers to these are the difference between a fair quote and one that grows later.
Wall and base units together? The worktop? Fitting? Handles? Get each item in writing.
Ideally the fitter comes to measure, and sends you a drawing with the sizes before anything is made.
These are the first things to fail. Ask the brand and whether the drawers are soft-close.
Making a kitchen takes time. Get the delivery date and fitting time in a message.
How many years, what it covers, and whether taking out and disposing of the old kitchen is included.
One sign on its own doesn't prove anything, but take care if you see them.
If there's no drawing with sizes before the kitchen is made, any mistake ends up being your problem.
It often leaves out the worktop, the wall units or the fitting, and the total ends up higher.
Paying a deposit is fine, but hold back the larger part until the kitchen is in and working.
Gas work needs a qualified technician. Don't take the risk to save one visit.
Made-to-measure kitchens are quoted by the linear metre, while fitting alone is one price for the whole kitchen. Treat these as rough figures for comparing quotes; real prices vary.

💡 Real Riyadh requests in 2026: moving a wall unit to the opposite wall and fixing the marble back (Derab Road) came to SAR 333, and fitting a tap plus connecting a washer and dryer (Hittin) to SAR 250.
⚠️ If the company that makes the kitchen also fits it, fitting is sometimes 10–15% of the price. Ask whether it's in the price per metre or not.
A rough guide from 6 sources (2026): real Riyadh customer requests on HomeRun (kitchen fitting and plumbing), IKEA Saudi's kitchen installation page, Rawaq Riyadh Kitchens' price table (August 2026), Masarat Decor's kitchen guide (October 2026), Raghdan's kitchen guide (February 2026), and Al Muhandis's article on kitchen worktops in Riyadh (September 2026). The final price is agreed between you and the technician. Laqeeni doesn't set prices or take commission.
Fitting a ready kitchen is usually SAR 800–1,500 for aluminium and SAR 1,500–3,000 for wood. For a new made-to-measure kitchen, aluminium is roughly SAR 500–1,500 per linear metre, and the worktop is often priced separately.
Yes. Taking it down and refitting it costs roughly SAR 1,000–3,500. But measure the new flat's walls before taking it apart, because the worktop and units often need changes or extra pieces.
No. According to IKEA's page, installation covers the units, worktop, sink and hob cut-outs and fitting the sink and tap, but water, gas, electric and appliance connections aren't included.
