Jeddah's humidity and salty sea air are harder on paint than almost anywhere else: peeling, mould in bathrooms, and salt bloom in homes near the sea. Before you agree with anyone, read this: what to prepare, how to work out the cost yourself, and the questions that get you a good finish that lasts.

A few minutes of prep means the quotes you get are clear and easy to compare.
For each wall, multiply length by height, take off doors and windows, and add the ceiling if it's being painted. The total is your area.
Look at the walls, especially under windows and near the bathroom and the AC. Soft white patches (salt bloom), peeling or black mould must be treated first.
Try it on a small patch and look at it in the morning and under your own lights at night. Jeddah's strong sunlight changes how colours look.
Settle this before you get quotes. If the painter supplies it, agree the brand and product name.
Knowing them now means you can raise them with the painter before work starts.
Salts pushed out of the wall by moisture, common in homes near the sea such as Abhur and Al Shati. It needs the damp treated and a sealer before painting, not more paint on top.
From humidity and poor ventilation. It must be cleaned and treated first, then painted with a moisture- and mould-resistant paint.
Usually water inside the wall from a leak or the AC. Fix the cause first, or the peeling will come back.
Jeddah's sun and salt are hard on outside paint. Facades need a proper exterior paint, not interior paint.
Humidity makes wood swell and the finish crack. It needs sanding and a primer before painting, and outside doors need a weather-resistant finish.
Usually from the plaster shrinking or the swing between day and night temperatures. They get filled and sanded before the first coat.
Both ways are common in Jeddah, and most painters count by the metre. What matters is knowing exactly what the price covers.
You buy the paint yourself and pay the painter for the work.
The painter supplies the paint and includes it in the quote.
Any leak or salt bloom must be fixed first, by a plumber or with a sealer, or you'll lose the new paint.
From November to March the humidity and heat are lower and paint dries better. In summer, leave longer between coats.
Use a washable, moisture-resistant paint, and run the extractor fan after showers.
Ask the painter to leave a small tin with the colour code written on it, for touch-ups after pictures go up or a wall gets marked.
Before the first tin is opened. A painter who's confident in their work will answer easily.
Agree how it's counted from day one. If it's per m², measure the rooms together before and after.
Ask what they do before painting: treatment, sealer, primer. And whether that's in the price.
One coat is rarely enough. Agree on two, with filler and sanding wherever the wall needs it.
Ask whether they'll cover floors, furniture and sockets with plastic and tape, and whether the clean-up afterwards is theirs.
Ask how many days to expect, and put it in a WhatsApp message with the price so you both have a record.
Look at real photos of work they did themselves, not pictures from the internet, and reviews from earlier customers.
They don't prove a painter is bad, but they're worth a question before you carry on.
Without treating the cause. The peeling and stains will be back in months.
Facades need an exterior paint that can take the sun and salt. Ask for the type by name.
Or won't name the brand. It's your wall, so you should know exactly what's going on it.
Hold back part of the money until the job is finished and cleaned up. Paying it all up front leaves you nothing to negotiate with.
Most painters in Jeddah charge by the square metre. Use these to spot a quote that's way off, not as fixed prices. The price depends on the paint, the state of the walls, and whether you or they buy the materials.
| Service | Rough price |
|---|---|
| Painter's labour only, per m² (interior) | SAR 10 – 12 per m² |
| Interior painting per m² with materials (standard) | SAR 18 – 28 per m² |
| Washable, moisture-resistant interior paint, with materials | SAR 35 – 45 per m² |
| Exterior facade paint, with materials | SAR 40 – 65 per m² |
| Exterior spray or graffiato finish, with materials | SAR 55 – 80 per m² |
| Decorative finishes (marble effect and similar) | SAR 60 – 90 per m² |
| A 4×4 m room (about 60 m² of walls and ceiling), with materials | SAR 1,100 – 2,700 |
| Painting wooden doors (whole job, by number and condition) | SAR 200 – 3,000 |
💡 Work it out yourself: length × height of each wall, minus doors and windows, plus the ceiling. Multiply the total by the price per m², and add 10% to be safe.
🧂 Walls with damp or salt bloom need treatment and a sealer before painting, which costs more. Ask for it as a separate line in the quote.
A rough guide from 4 sources in Jeddah (2025 – 2026): price pages from Jeddah painting firms, and a Jeddah price range for painting wooden doors from a home-services platform. We couldn't find enough real Jeddah customer jobs with prices, so treat these as rough. The final price is agreed between you and the painter. Laqeeni doesn't set prices or take commission.
Usually moisture: a leak, the AC, or salts coming out of the wall (salt bloom), especially near the sea. The fix is to treat the cause and use a sealer before painting, not just paint again.
November to March is usually best, because humidity and heat are lower and paint dries evenly. Summer is possible, but leave longer between coats.
No. Laqeeni shows you the painters and you contact them directly. The price and payment are between you and the painter, with nothing going to us.
