When to book your wedding or engagement suppliers in Saudi Arabia: a timeline

When to book the hall, photographer, kosha and giveaways? Saudi wedding seasons, approximate 2027 Ramadan and Eid dates, and a stage-by-stage…

Why timing matters

Most wedding stress comes from crowding: everyone wants the same weeks. Once you know the seasons you know when to ask early and when you can relax. This guide covers an engagement (ملكة) and a wedding (زواج), with a calendar and a stage-by-stage checklist. It gives no fixed number of weeks per supplier, because we found no Saudi source for them.

The wedding seasons

How far ahead?

Western guides (Zola) say to book photographers 10 to 12 months ahead. A Gulf photographer says "at least a month" (Gulf News). These two are far apart, and Saudi lead times vary by supplier and season. So the rule is: ask each supplier how many weeks ahead she needs, and get the answer in writing.

A checklist by stage

No week counts here, only the order.

1. Set the frame

- Date, and whether it is an engagement or a wedding - Rough guest count, at home or in a hall - Total budget

2. Lock the foundations first

- The hall or venue - Then ask the photographer and kosha supplier straight away, since the most requested ones may already hold your dates

3. Then everything else

- Styling, hospitality and desserts, the cake - Giveaways: ask for the minimum quantity and preparation time (see our giveaway guide) - Outfits and beauty

4. Close to the day

- Confirm every supplier on date, time and address - Pay balances only as agreed in writing - Appoint one person to receive and guide suppliers

5. Afterwards

- Collect photos and video by the date in writing - Return rented pieces

Planning around Ramadan

If your event falls near Ramadan, ask the supplier whether she works then. Some slow down; others are busy with Eid.

Next step

Pick an approximate date, then send every supplier the same question: "How many weeks ahead do you need, and is my date free?" Laqeeni is free and commission-free. We will add real lead times once we have collected them from our sellers.
