In Dammam many people move between districts, from Al Faisaliyah to Al Shati or King Fahd Suburb, and need someone to take their furniture apart and put it back. Older houses and villas have doors that have tired over the years, and dust, heat and humidity are hard on wood. Here are the checks you can do yourself, and the questions that protect you from a bad job.
Simple things with an ordinary screwdriver. If the wood is broken or the piece is heavy, leave it to the carpenter.
A door or wardrobe door hanging crooked? Tighten the hinge screws. That fixes many cases.
A drawer that sticks? Take it out and see whether the runner has come out of place.
Before taking furniture apart, photograph and count every piece, and photograph the room after it's built so you can put everything back where it was.
If you're taking furniture apart, put each piece's screws and small parts in a bag labelled with the piece's name.
Only a carpenter can say for sure, but this helps you understand what they tell you.
In older homes doors drop over the years, or the wood swells in humidity. The carpenter adjusts the hinges or planes the door and seals its edge.
Loose screws after a move, or a missing part. Tighten the screws; if the wood has split around them, it needs a carpenter.
Wrong assembly makes a wardrobe lean or drawers stick. Photograph the pieces, send them to the carpenter and ask for one price for the room.
MDF that has absorbed water from a leak. Fix the leak with a plumber first, then replace the panel.
Sun, dust and humidity are hard on outside doors and yard woodwork. It needs a new protective coat.
Usually needs adjusting or replacing. Photograph the old lock before you buy a new one.
The kind of job changes how it's priced.
A bedroom or a whole home's furniture, moving from one district to another.
A boxed room, wardrobes, a TV unit, or IKEA.
A door, a hinge, a drawer or damaged wood.
After any move, tighten the screws on wardrobes and beds again after about two weeks, once the furniture has settled.
Tall wardrobes should be fixed to the wall, especially with children in the house.
Water swells wood. Dry the area after any leak.
Renew the protective coat on outside doors and yard woodwork every year or two.
Ask before any work starts. A good carpenter won't mind.
Agree how it's priced from the start, and get the price in writing on WhatsApp.
Send them photos and a list of every piece before they come, so the price is clear.
If you're moving to another district, ask whether the price includes wrapping, transport and assembly.
If wardrobes or shelves are fixed to the wall, ask who supplies the screws and brackets.
If something leans or squeaks after assembly, will they come back and adjust it free?
Look at real photos of past work and reviews from earlier customers.
One sign on its own doesn't prove anything, but take care if you see them.
If they say «we'll see later» and start, think twice.
And they leave without adjusting it. Ask them to adjust it before you pay.
Ask them to compensate you or replace the piece, and photograph the damage before they leave.
If you pay everything first, you have nothing left to hold back if the job isn't done properly.
Most carpenters charge per piece or per room. These are rough prices; use them to spot a quote that's way off, not as fixed prices.
| Service | Rough price |
|---|---|
| Assembling a bed or a single piece | From SAR 100 |
| Taking apart and assembling a children's room | From SAR 250 |
| Taking apart and assembling a master bedroom | SAR 400 – 600 |
| A bedroom, including the move to another district | From SAR 700 |
| Furnishing a villa (3 – 4 bedrooms) | From SAR 1,500 |
💡 A full bedroom: send the carpenter photos of the pieces and their number, and ask for one price for everything. It's usually cheaper than pricing each piece alone.
📦 We couldn't find reliable prices for doors or kitchens in Dammam, so ask for a written price once they've seen the job, ideally from 3 carpenters.
A rough guide from Dammam carpenter pages (November 2026) and one Dammam ad. Most sites advertise discounts without base prices, and we found no real Dammam customer jobs with prices, so treat these as rough. We've left out door and kitchen prices because we found no Dammam source. The final price is agreed between you and the carpenter. Laqeeni doesn't set prices or take commission.
A children's room starts at around SAR 250, and a master bedroom is SAR 400 to 600. If it includes a move to another district, it starts at SAR 700. The price changes with the room's size and the type of wood.
If the furniture is expensive or has many pieces, let the carpenter take it apart so nothing breaks, and they know how to put it back. Photograph the pieces first.
Three is enough. Send them all the same photos and list so you're comparing the same job.
No. Laqeeni is a directory that connects you with the carpenter directly. You agree and pay between you.
