Before you book a home cleaner in Riyadh

An hourly cleaner, a full clean before moving in, or a villa? Before you book, read this: what to decide first, which kind of clean suits you, and the questions that save you from surprises.

Before you book

Decide these before you contact anyone. The price will be clearer and the visit more useful.

What exactly do you need?

The number of rooms and bathrooms, and whether there's ironing, laundry or windows. All of it changes the time and price.

Do you have materials?

Check what cleaning products and tools you have. If you don't have them, you'll need to ask the company to bring them.

Female or male cleaners?

Decide which you prefer, and how many people you need.

When?

Pick the day and time, and ask whether evenings or Fridays cost more.

What often goes wrong with cleaning

Most problems come from something that wasn't agreed at the start.

Time ran out before the job was done

Usually the hours, or the priorities, weren't agreed. Say at the start what must get done.

No materials

If nobody agreed who brings materials, the visit is spent waiting or shopping.

The price went up on the day

An evening, Friday or extra-hour charge nobody mentioned. Get the full price in writing.

High or risky work

High windows and building fronts need equipment and safety gear. Not a job for a normal hourly cleaner.

The sofa didn't dry

Steam or wash cleaning of sofas and carpets needs time to dry. Ask how long before you book.

After-building cleans are harder than expected

Fine dust everywhere plus paint and gypsum marks. Needs special tools and usually costs more.

Which kind of clean do you need?

Each kind takes a different time and price. Pick the one that suits you before you book.

Regular cleaning

An hourly cleaner every week or two. Right for a lived-in home that needs tidying, mopping, bathrooms and kitchen.

Deep clean

Once or twice a year: cupboards, walls, windows, inside the kitchen units. Takes longer or needs more than one cleaner.

Moving in or out

An empty flat: dust, paint marks, bathrooms and kitchen. Ask whether windows and the balcony are included.

After building or painting

Fine dust plus paint and gypsum marks. Needs special tools and usually costs more.

Sofas, carpets and majlis

Usually a separate service with steam or washing machines. Ask how long it takes to dry.

Windows and outside walls

High windows and building fronts need equipment and safety gear. Not a normal hourly cleaner's job.

Getting ready for the visit

Tidy up first

If floors and tables are clear, the time goes on cleaning, not tidying.

Start with what matters

Tell the cleaner your priorities (kitchen, bathrooms) so the important bits are done if time runs out.

Mix deep and regular

A deep clean every few months, and weekly visits for everyday cleaning.

Valuables

Put jewellery and important papers somewhere locked before any visit.

Questions to ask before you book

Ask before you confirm the booking. A good company won't mind.

  1. What's the price, and for how many hours?

Agree the hours and the price in writing, and whether evenings or Fridays cost more.

  2. Who brings the materials?

Do you bring materials and tools, or do I? Does that cost extra?

  3. Who will come, and how many?

Female or male cleaners, and how many people.

  4. What's included in the price?

Windows? The balcony? Inside the kitchen units? Ironing? Get it in writing.

  5. What if something gets broken?

Ask before the visit, not after.

  6. Can we walk round before you leave?

Agree that you'll check the home together before they go, so anything missed can be finished.

  7. Do you have reviews?

Look at genuine reviews, and ask neighbours or family about their experience.

Warning signs

One sign on its own doesn't prove anything, but take care if you see them.

Won't put the price and hours in writing

If they won't write down the price and the number of hours before booking, think twice.

The price goes up on the day

New charges nobody mentioned. Ask for the full price at the start.

Can't tell you who will come

Or how many people. You have a right to know before the visit.

Leaves without a walk-round

And won't finish what was missed. Agree this at the start.

Rough guide

Rough prices (a guide only)

Rough prices. Use them to spot a quote that's way off, not as fixed prices. They depend on the size of the home, the type of clean, and whether you or the company supply the materials.

ServiceRough price
Hourly cleaner (4-hour visit)SAR 120 – 180
Extra hourAbout SAR 50
Small or medium apartment (one-off clean)SAR 250 – 600
Villa cleanFrom about SAR 800

💡 Monthly packages (a visit every week, say) usually work out cheaper than booking each visit separately.

🧽 Hourly prices usually don't include materials. If you don't have them, ask the company to bring them and check the price.
